The 604r was an updated 604e manufactured by IBM using a 0.25 μm CMOS process. It runs more efficently and supports higher clock rates (250 to 400 MHz, 100 MHz bus) than the PowerPC 604e (166 to 233 MHz, 66 MHz bus).
The 43P implements the Common Hardware Reference Platform (CHRP) (Wikipedia), and thus is supported in versions of AIX after 5.1L.
